So, I stumbled on some people talking about National Novel Reading Month and after doing a little research and not finding anything “official”, I thought I would do my own little NaNoReaMo.
So, here’s the dealio:
I pledge to read four novels this month (which will be tough given the holidays and so forth – but come on, curling up in front of a fire and reading? What better excuse do you need than that?)
I will not only read these books, I will post a review on these books AND THEN give them away to four lucky winners for Book Swap in January!
And since I just finished writing 50,000 words in 30 days, I’m SO DONE with writing and SO IN THE MOOD to read for a bit.
Here are the books I’ll be reading this month:
Book One: New Moon by Stephenie Meyer

Done with Breaking Dawn. Hated it. On to The Winter Queen by Amanda McCabe. Needed some fluff to get the bad taste of the Twilight Saga out of my head.

I’m in! I am currently reading Breaking Dawn, which I started this month. Well, maybe on the 30th, but are we going to be really technical here?
I’ve got several books I’d love to read and I’ve not really got anything better to do as we already had family here and we’re not going anywhere. Hard to do when you live on a farm, ya know!
My goal was to read 35 books this year. I’m at 35 or 36, so what’s a couple more, right?
I’d love to join you but I’m pretty sure it would be impossible for me to read 4 books any month, especially this month. Maybe next year though when the kids are a bit older? A girl can dream but seriously if the baby girl can sleep through the night, it could happen I think.
NaNoReaMo would be a cinch for me – I get obsessive about reading. Once I start a book, I have to finish it as soon as possible. Even if that means ignoring housework and other things. Or staying up until 2 AM (I’m usually asleep by 11).
I have both New Moon and The Time Traveler’s Wife. I enjoyed both of them.
I think I’ll stay away from the books this month, though. I’m expecting up to15 people in my house for the two weeks surrounding Christmas. I can’t ignore housework for the sake of reading. 🙂

I still have two books left to read by December 20th. I don’t think I’ll be able to get both of them in, but I can shoot for at least one!
(Note to self: Get book off bookshelf and put it on end table so it will be near you when you park your arse in front of the TV at night…)
