Seriously Disturbed and Just a Bit Flabbergasted

I’m disturbed and confused over this statement that Biden made last week:

“Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking,” Biden said.

“Remember I said it standing here. if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. And he’s gonna have to make some really tough — I don’t know what the decision’s gonna be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it’s gonna happen,” Biden continued.

Have you heard about this? I’m betting no. Why hasn’t the news media picked up on this? You can bet your bottom dollar it would have been ALL we heard about if a Republican candidate had said something similar. Why aren’t we hounding Senator Biden to explain this statement? Do we really need further proof that our liberal media is seriously biased?

Why do I get the feeling that Biden knows something and is trying to warn us? And what exactly does he mean by “generated crisis?” Have we already been threatened?

And the bigger question is, IF Obama makes it to the White House, how will he react IF we’re attacked again? Will he be decisive and strong, thereby discouraging future attacks? Or will he be too concerned about hurting someone’s feelings to react at all?

I’m telling you folks, this seriously worries me.

  1. This is disturbing. I hadn’t heard anything about this. I try to stay away from new channels, especially when elections are upcoming. It is so hard to get real, accurate information when everyone is trying to sway you to their side. I do try to pay attention just enough to get a good idea of what each person is saying.

I can see why Biden said what he did. The main concern I have with Obama (and a lot of others) is his lack of experience and his nice guy attitude. I could see someone planning something to test his strength and leadership. It has not been tested before and I think a lot of people think that he is a pushover.

Personally, I think Obama has the qualities necessary to deal with anything that might come his way. I don’t think he will respond with brute force like previous presidents have, but I think he will be able to take care of anything thrown at him.

Look at the bright side: If Biden’s remarks do come true, Obama will gain experience in a heartbeat!

  2. I’m relieved to hear that. But I still haven’t seen anything about this on the news stations that I’ve been watching – namely CNN and CNBC – our local stations haven’t even covered it! I heard about this from Rush Limbaugh.

Nor have I heard anything about this on the radio – and I toggle between many stations all day.

Perhaps I’ve missed the coverage? It just frustrates me because if a Republican had said something like this, it would be the lead story on numerous stations for weeks.

And if I’ve missed the coverage, then can someone please point me to a source that explains Biden’s remarks? Preferably a source that quotes Biden explaining his statements, not the speculation of others.

I believe they made comparisons to JFK and Obama mainly because JFK was inexperienced when he took office as well, and some speculate that is why the Cuban crisis happened at that time period – because they figured JFK wouldn’t be able to handle it.

    Fortunately, they were wrong.

Perhaps they are wrong about assuming Obama couldn’t handle something like this either. But my point is – why put a president in office that MIGHT tempt wackos from around the world to throw something at us? I realize you can’t control what people do, no matter who is in office, but I seriously worry about Obama’s resolve to protect US citizens. After all, if we’re invaded, then “spreading the wealth” will be the least of our concerns.

  3. Karen, the media has extensively covered Biden’s remarks. His comments are frightening, but I believe they are accurate. The media have made striking comparisons between JFK and the Cuban missile crisis & Obama.

Nonetheless, my support for Obama is unwavering. Just TWO DAYS AGO — less than 2 weeks before the election — Sarah “I’m proud to be called a Redneck” Palin still couldn’t accurately explain the duties of a Vice President to a THIRD GRADER.

That scares me more than any threat from a foreign enemy. That woman just needs to GO AWAY . . .FAR AWAY . . . back under the snowbank from whence she came.
