Hello! My name is Karen and welcome! I’m a mom to two young men – Blake (30) and Brandon (28). I’ve been married to the same wonderful, patient, thoughtful and generous man (Kevin) for 32 years.
I work full time in a healthcare clinic (for now) – it’s my “day” job. I squeeze in family time and blogging in between all of that. (Okay, I really spend the majority of my “down” time watching YouTube videos or searching prompts and writing short stories to post).
We converted a cargo trailer into a camper and I guess we’re campers now! (Since going on cruises seems to be out of the question right now).
I graduated from college with a B.S in Technical Writing – so I’m a wordy know-it-all, as well as a minor in creative writing – so don’t always believe what I write. *wink*
I believe in Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Writing Well. (I also believe in our Constitution – Don’t Tread on my Rights, Yo).
I can be snark-a-licious, but only when provoked or when confronted with ignorant, ill-informed knuckleheads.
I’ve been blogging (on and off, mostly off) for…. how many years…? (I’ve lost track, quite honestly).
I also have a lot to say about nothing.
Brace yourself.
Also follow me on Instagram, because life is more fun with pictures.
Aww, where does the time go! He looks determined 🙂
He definitely looks so ready to get on the road! That look on his face reminds me of my son when alight his mobile car. 🙂
great take on the theme!
thanks for visiting mine =)
YIKES! to be 16 again and to be able to drive on the open road by yourself for the first time. Great photo.
Look out world, here he comes! I’m glad I don’t have to think about that for a while!
I photo hunted, too (for the first time)! I’d love for you to come over and take a peek.
I loved the picture, Karen. Absolutely beautiful!
Thanks for visiting my post!
OMG, hitting the road is a huge milestone! Congrats!
Thanks for visiting my hunt.
I wish he will take be careful on the road.
happy hunting!
Ready to hit the road – I love it! A completely unique take on the theme. Happy autumn!
He looks like he’s been anticipating it for a while then! Great shot.
Wow, I do hope he’s very careful with that bike. You must be a nervous wreck.
Whoo hoo! This looks like some fun waitin’ to happen! 🙂
Nice shot, Karen. Mine is a bit of a different take on this week’s theme. It’s here.
I couldnt wait to get on my first bike!
great photo, thanks for visiting mine 🙂
Look out road!! I hope you (and he) fair well with the transition. I know it was a rough one for me. Luckily my kids were pretty mature about the driving thing.

Oh gee! My son didn’t get his license until he was 17.5. It’s actually nice as you have someone who is very willing most of the time to chauffeur you around.
Thanks for dropping by!
ooohhhh. i have 6 more years. whewww
Great shot – I love that his road is virtual!
So glad my 16 year didn’t hit the road yet on a bike but is waiting to do so next year when he turns 18 and will start driving lessons.
What a fantastic shot!
My son is trying to convince me you can get your drivers license in Montana at 14. Riiiiiiight. Even if he could, he’s only 13 now.
Oh my ! that’s the start of troubles, lol ! They can go where they want and you start to worry where they are. But it doesn’t last long, then they want to drive a car !
I can’t imagine how I feel when my firstborn takes to the road. I have 6 more years to deal with my imagination! LOL
Great shot, Karen!
Oh, my! My son will be a teen next month, so driving is right around the corner for us as well. I am hoping I do not have to be the one who teaches him. I imagine much frustration.
Oh…a mother’s heart! I managed to get three boys through driver’s education and into adulthood…but my 17 year old daughter has not even wanted to get her license. It’s funny the difference.
Have a wonderful weekend, Karen, and thanks for stopping by to travel the roads on Pollywog Creek.
