Can You Hear Me Now?

Her mother made an ugly face and pushed her out the door. She stumbled and barely caught herself from falling. She threw her doll at the glass door and yelled; the sound from her throat unrecognizable. She began to furiously sign, her fingers flying, her expression pleading … “You are my sunshine” …

  1. Oh wow. Oh wow. I can totally visualize this!

I’m really, really wanting this to have a happy ending.

Okay. Yeah. I visualized one. I feel a lot better now!

    This was great!

  2. I enjoy how you put this all together…great writing, her fingers flying very real and clear vision in your words!

  3. Dear Karen,
You have packed a lot in your 50 words. I take it that the little girl is a deaf-mute. But everyone has their days. A girl like that is probably more dependent upon her parents than “normal”, hearing children. Her frustration over being “different” is discretely rolled into this little episode.

You are such a good writer! I started writing this in Swedish by mistake! (I must be getting tired.) Your centus is excellent. Takes my breath (and almost even my words) away!

    Best wishes,
