  1. Greetings!

We had Thanksgiving dinner @ the home of some tennis friends (we have no family down here). They had their parents, children, grandchildren (just tiny babies), siblings & nieces w/ beaux in addition to us – so the house was rockin’. Friday the stepson came over, so we had a complete re-enactment of Thanksgiving – I cooked my turkey w/ bacon all over it – then I remove it for last hour of cooking so bird browns – and serve the turkified bacon to step-son as an hors d’oeuvre. I took a picture of it just before I put it in the oven – but as I have no blog to post it on – you’ll just have to visualize a turkey shaped mound of bacon sitting in a big pan.

I do very little Christmas shopping. Too much hassle to exchange w/ family up north (they are in complete agreement), husband shops for stepson, and we pretty much just buy ourselves what we want & put it under the tree. This year I figured out how to create an Amazon wish list and I e-mailed it to the husband. It’s not that I don’t like Christmas – we just don’t attach that much importance to the gift aspect of it. It’s more relaxing for us this way. I’ve never been a fan of black Friday & I’m not surprised someone was trampled.

I haven’t eaten fast food since December 1986. This is because my solemn vow to embark on a life of fitness and good nutrition began on Jan. 1, 1987. BUT – just so’s you don’t get the wrong idea…. I can’t eat a sandwich with out chips, and I like to slog wine & eat brownies, cookies or chocolate pretty much every night. When we go out, I order what I like – it’s just I’ve lost all desire for fast food.

OK – gotta get back to work! – Lunch hour’s over! . . . Betsy
