Blog-a-thon 2008

Blog-a-thon ’08 – The Beginning Post

Ready for a solid 24-hours of blogging? Are you sure? Brace yourself, it’s going to be a wild ride. πŸ˜€

(My apologizes to my RSS readers – your inbox will be flooded with entries for the next 24 hours, but I hope you’ll find the content fun, informative and heart warming).

Support Our Troops

For those of you just tuning in, this is the first entry for the ’08 blog-a-thon. A blog-a-thon is a program that encourages bloggers to post an entry, every thirty minutes, in order to bring awareness and ask for pledges for their favorite charities. The official blog-a-thon site is not active this year, however, I thought it would be fun to continue the tradition. I’m not only participating, I’m putting a little spin on things.

Instead of blogging for just one charity, I will be blogging for many charities all promoting one common theme: Supporting our troops.

And before my international friends tune me out and think this is just for the U.S. Armed forces, consider this: have you shown your support for your country’s troops lately? Now would be the perfect opportunity to look into some organizations that you can get involved with to help show your support for the brave men and women who have the courage to stand up and defend our/your country. And if you would like to pass on those links, please feel free to leave me a comment!

Thanks for visiting! I hope you’ll find the time to sit down and read my blog entries in between chores/activities today and keep me company! Twenty-four hours can be a LOOONG time when there’s no one to talk to. πŸ˜€

ALSO! I plan on giving away some really cool books – stay tuned!

Saturday Photo Hunt – Hanging

Quick note: I’m posting every thirty minutes for the next 24-hours for a great cause beginning at 6:00 a.m. U.S. central time. If you’d like to keep up with my activities, please visit my home page. If you’d like to know more about what charity I’m blogging for, read this page.

This week’s theme: Hanging

Our planets – hanging by a thread. *grin* This picture was taken at the Air & Space Museum in Washington D.C.
