Teaching: Salvation by Faith
We currently have bible study, in our home, every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. We sit around our dining room table, bibles in hand, and watch one of the numerous video teachings offered by Truth or Tradition. These teachings have TRULY BLESSED US.
I’m not overly religious – I don’t go out of my way to speak the word of God. But if the occasion arises, and my audience is receptive, then I do not hesitate to tell people about the Truth or Tradition ministry and how it has blessed me and my family.
I feel God has been trying to tell me something these past weeks and I’m just now at a point in my life that I can listen to Him. This blog is a convenient platform in which to help spread His word via the Truth or Tradition teachings. I plan on offering various videos and links to the Truth or Tradition teachings every Sunday; I hope you will take the time to look into this ministry whether you’ve been searching for something like this, or are already established in your current beliefs.
It never hurts to learn about various viewpoints, in all aspects of our lives, in order to gauge whether or not our current beliefs/thoughts/practices are real and true. It’s possible to listen to opposing, or different views, if you will allow yourself to do so.
Today’s teaching is “Salvation by Faith.”

The manifestation of faith is your having the confidence or trust that what God or the Lord Jesus Christ has revealed to you by a message of knowledge or a message of wisdom will come to pass at your command.
Before we can understand the “manifestation of faith” (1 Cor. 12:9), we must understand what “regular” faith is. “Faith” is the translation of the Greek noun pistis, which means “trust,” “confidence,” or “assurance.” Our English word “trust” captures the sense very well. Sadly, most Christians do not know what “faith” is because the modern definition differs from the biblical definition. The modern definition of “faith,” and the definition most Christians have in their mind, is a “firm belief in something for which there is no proof ” (Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary). It is vital to understand that “belief in something for which there is no proof” is actually superstition, and that is far from the biblical definition of “faith.”
The biblical definition of faith is “trust,” and we trust things only after they have been proven to us. God does not ask us to believe Him without some kind of reason or proof. He has left many evidences that He exists and that His Word is true. When God asks us to have faith, He is not asking us to believe something without proof.
