13 unknown facts/secrets about myself. (Okay, so they aren’t real deal breakers, but you have to admit, the first one took you by surprise, didn’t it. *grin*).

1. Explain what ended your last relationship?
He was married and went back to his wife the night before the divorce was final. Yep, I was the other woman (though not the reason they were divorcing – those wheels were in motion before I came into the picture). I bet you never suspected I used to be a bad girl, eh? 😀

2. When was the last time you shaved your legs?
Yesterday morning. I shave about three times a week.

3. What were you doing this morning at 8 a.m?
Checking emails, catching up on my blog reads in Google Reader, making website updates.

4. What were you doing 15 minutes ago?
Waking up the boys, making beds, cleaning up the kitchen, grabbing a granola bar and getting back on the computer. Seriously? I’m never far away from either my PC or my laptop. It’s pathetic, quite frankly.

5. Are you any good at math?
I suck at it. In fact, I’ve been FORBIDDEN to try and help the boys with their math homework.

6. Last night?
I walked six miles and watched “P.S., I Love You.” I thought the premise was genius, though the acting left something to be desired.

7. What is outside of your back door?
Our camper, a wooden treehouse that the boys have only played on a dozen times in the years since my husband built it, and a shed my husband built where we keep our lawnmower and generator.

8. Have you ever taken out a loan to pay for school?
Yes, several times. In fact, the husband and I used my first student loan to get married. We are still paying on my student loans to this day – I graduated from college in ’03. (The interest rate is so low that we haven’t been in a hurry to pay it off and have instead been concentrating on getting higher interest debts paid off).

9. Do you know the words to the song on your myspace page?
I have a MySpace page – there is no way in Hades I’m ever going to use it. One big reason? I LOATHE their web page setup. Speaking as a web designer? It’s too cluttered and “busy.” It drives me bat sh*t crazy.

10. Last thing you received in the mail?
A book I mooched from Bookmooch.com. In fact, I have three more on the way … all for free! Join! It’s fun!!!

11. How many different beverages have you drank today?
Coffee, orange Juice and water. I rarely drink anything else.

12. Do you draw your name in the sand when you go to the beach?
Of course not. I’m too busy trying NOT to look like someone just dug me up out of the sand. I’m one of those women who DO NOT look good at the beach.

13. What’s the most painful dental procedure you’ve had?
Getting a root canal on my upper molar. OMG. I spent two hours with my mouth unhinged (not really, but it felt like it!) and the vibrations, the burnt-tooth smell and the fact that I was nervous as heck that he would drop an instrument down my throat made me sicker than a dog. As soon as he was done, I ran (literally) to the bathroom and threw up.

  1. This is a great list! I have Facebook, which I like, but not My Space. Well, I ahve it but just don’t use it- I hate the layout too! I have to ahve a look at Bookmooch- it sounds cool with a name like that! And well done for walking six miles last night….I did two yesterday but you’ve given me an incentive to do more now!

  2. wow, that root canal sounds awful, prolly should have tried to relax a bit if yer pukin’ over it.. i hate root canals too, just got one on my FRONT left tooth the other day, but it actually went well, phew!

  3. And now that I commented with the name MInTheGap, how about leaving the right name.

    My alter ego, Peter Plum, is who actually has a TT up, MInTheGap does not.

  4. I agree with you for #6– the concept was much better than the execution, I thought. Like all movies there were things in there that it could have done without.

    I made the mistake of taking a gulp of water when I read that – TOO FUNNY!!

    I have mixed feeling about Facebook – I like that I can keep track of my family (read SON here), but all of the cutsie games/programs are well, sort of annoying. lol Maybe I just need to lighten up? 😀

  6. I completely agree about the MySpace pages layouts–I HATE them!! When I registered at Facebook I immediately felt it was a much more civilized, organized community, which is actually what a lot of people seem NOT to like about it. One of my friends says that MySpace is like 1-900-Lick-Me with all its horrible “customization” page tweaks.

    Sorry, I just kinda went OFF there! Your site is nice and clean and fun to read (if you look at mine, you ‘ll see it’s of a similar “cleanliness”). This was a fun list!

  7. I suck at math too, I’m dyslexic with numbers, I’m forbidden to touch the checkbook! LOL Kids learned early on not to ask mom for help with math homework!

  9. great post! #13 kinda made me shudder as I hate the dentist and have a good number of dental memories to make me smell, taste, hear and feel all sorts of unpleasant memories – haha – root canals are definitely no fun!

    I also agree completely with you on the myspace thing, but sadly find myself there anyway at least once day… ::sigh::

  12. But I bet the movie made you cry. I make sand furniture with my feet, things like hassocks to rest them on and hills to cover them with.

  15. Re: 13…. I probably wouldn’t have been able to wait until the dentist was done to get the kips. The thought makes me want to brush extra and even floss today, just in case! Happy TT.
