Eight Emotions I Experienced the Day After the Election

Okay. So now that I have had time to process what the heck happened November 6th – here is a run down of emotions I went through the day AFTER the election:

Dread: I didn’t watch the election results. Actually, yes I did – in the beginning. But the yo-yo reporting by this so-called media of ours drove me nuts. One station – Obama was way ahead. Another station, Romney was way ahead. The next station, they were neck and neck. And the pundits that I USED to trust (I’m looking at you Dick Morris), was telling me, “No problem. Romney will win this by a landslide.” I couldn’t take it – my heart was hurting from pounding so hard. This was AN IMPORTANT election and the outcome meant too much to me to be jerked around every five minutes. I turned everything off and went to bed.

But I dreaded what I’d find the next morning.

Incredulity: Even though I was nervous about the outcome, I knew, I KNEW, in my heart of hearts, that Romney would win. How could he not? Our country is in a mess. And surely, SURELY, people recognized this and would do the right thing. I thought to myself. I had faith in the people.

So when I turned my computer on the next morning before getting ready for work and saw that Obama had won, I was absolutely stunned. I checked several sources just to make sure I wasn’t reading something wrong.

Obama-Claus won.

HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?!? I was incredulous. I think I walked around in a shocked daze for most of the day. I simply could not believe that the majority of people would willingly vote for another four years of more spending, of higher taxes, OF OBAMACARE. It simply boggled my mind.

How could people be so incredibly stupid, and naive, at the same time??

Anger: It went beyond anger – I was LIVID. Like, I can’t-even-form-a-coherent-sentence livid. It was really hard, really hard, to act like nothing was amiss at work – to keep smiling and acting friendly when all I wanted to do was rant, rave and debate anyone who dared to admit they voted the socialist back into office.

Most patients never brought up the election, but a few patients dared to go down that road, but fortunately for me (for them?), they happened to vote the same way I did, so we swapped notes and offered condolences and words of encouragement, but I knew, deep down, we wouldn’t see any sort of light at the end of the tunnel for quite some time.

It will take YEARS, maybe even DECADES, to undo the Obamanation this man has caused, and will cause. I hate to sound all doom and gloom here, but we have to be realistic at some point, people.

We will never achieve a Utopian-style nation – IT’S. JUST. NOT. REALISTIC.

At least, not until Christ comes back to save us from ourselves, that is.

Disgust: Then, THEN, I found out that three million LESS conservatives voted this go-around than the last presidential election.

Are. You. Freaking. Kidding. Me.

I was angry, but even more disgusted. Yes. I understood that people were disillusioned and disappointed that Romney was our only option, and yes, I understood that if we wanted to be completely honest, he was really only a watered-down version of Obama, but the bottom line? HE WASN’T OBAMA. He wasn’t AS extreme and we could use his wishy-washiness against him and at least slow down this “forward” momentum.

But to NOT vote???? To not even bother showing up and exercising your RIGHT to voice your opinion?? I’m truly baffled.

And disgusted. Because you can’t just WANT change, you have to actively PURSUE change. And that all begins with a vote. If you don’t vote, then how can you possibly hope for anything different?

I’m telling you one thing – if you didn’t vote this last election, and WHEN things get worse, I don’t even want to hear it. You did nothing, now sit there and swallow your inability to act.

Bitterness: And yes, that last sentence was meant to sound b*tchy, because I’m bitter and disillusioned.

I think I’m more bitter toward the Republican party right now. Because honestly? They’re a bunch of idiots. I don’t understand why the Republican Establishment cuts off their nose to spite their face. Every time our party sticks to its guns and stays conservative on issues, people respond with enthusiasm. It’s when the Republican Establishment sticks it’s big nose into things and “waters” down the message all in the name of trying to win moderate votes that the message starts to get murky and people lose enthusiasm.

And what I don’t get is that this happens time and time again. Why doesn’t the Republican Establishment wake the hell up and see what’s right in front of their faces??

People want conservative values. They want a leader who is strong enough to uphold those values and who will not get into office and then buckle under same, or opposing party, views.

I hate to say it, but I have to agree with the liberals – the Republican Establishment is a bunch of good ‘ole boys making back room deals. It’s all about who’s next in line to run for the president and less about who the best candidate might be – because trust me, that method doesn’t work (*ahem* John McCain and Mitt Romney).

And I hate to bring this up, and please understand I do not agree with this opinion, but I honestly think Romney being a Mormon had a lot to do with him losing and people not voting. Regardless of what the “media” jams down our throats, our country is still predominantly Christian and though I understand Mormonism (but don’t agree with it, mind you), I know Romney wouldn’t have tried to snub out Christianity like Obama is trying to do now – it still would have been better than keeping Obama-wreck in office another four years.

If this election did nothing else, it certainly made Libertarian a lot more attractive in my eyes.

Sadness: Know what’s sad? Fifty-one percent of the population are OKAY with socialism. More people are now takers than givers and though Libs refuse to face reality, news flash – we can not sustain that mentality. We just can’t. The money has to come from somewhere. We simply can’t print money and hope everything turns out okay. It doesn’t work that way.

China owns nearly half of the United States. Let’s hope they don’t want to cash in because we’ll be in real more trouble.

Resignation: And now? Here we are. The deed has been done. Obamacare will go into effect, our taxes will go up (probably after this coming January 1st), our debt will increase, China will loan us more money, thereby owning more of our country, more people will go on government programs, not really because they NEED to, but because the government is now actively enticing people to become dependent, our country is doomed to go downhill for the next several years – what’s done is done.

There are no more threats of going off the fiscal cliff, the socialist country threat is no longer effective because WE ARE AT THAT POINT.

Now the real question is: how long will we stay here before people wake the hell up and do something about it?

OR …

Are people awake now and JUST DON’T CARE.

Determined: I’m more determined than ever to fight this growing trend. I’ll be one of those that refuses to get the 666 stamped onto my forehead. I will fight socialism with every last breath in my body.

Why do you think I got a job in healthcare?? Because I saw this coming. Because I wanted to make sure that I was in an industry where my family would have their healthcare needs covered. Because I didn’t want to take a chance on losing my healthcare coverage with another employer. And it will happen folks, Because even though you may still have healthcare through your employer, it will now, necessarily because it HAS to be paid for in some way, will go up. And if (when??) you choose to leave your employer’s healthcare plan and opt for a cheaper, government version (which HAS BEEN the goal since day one), you’ll be solely dependent on the government and whoever is in charge of your particular case – I hope they’re feeling charitable.

And I say this with authority – more and more doctors are refusing to accept government plans. Why? Because they don’t pay squat. And if you think that’s cruel, let’s turn it around a bit – would YOU work in a high-stress, high-liability industry for FREE???

Enjoy your decision, America. I hope you can live with the results.

How Can You Compete With Santa Claus?

Our party lost because 51% wanted Obama to protect their free stuff, or others’ free stuff, or their union or government jobs. And a surge of black, latino, and young voters that put Obama over the top indicates most likely that they feared Romney would cut their Food stamps and free health care. If you are implying that Romney lost because he lies, I would argue the opposite: Obama won because he lies all the time.

Obama is a poor example to all those young people looking for a role model. He is a profligate liar and a poor manager of money. And that is what young people are now idolizing and emulating. Whether or not Obama has eliminated work requirements is inconsequential. What he will likely do is continue another 4 years of unchecked unemployment compensation, food stamps, welfare, and health care. This is like a drug to those who wish to take advantage and avoid working. The net effect is the same. Seeing as we may never get another Republican President we can probably expect these freebies to continue unchecked for decades, or until we are completely broke. That’s the Democrat plan.

Everybody’s happy as long as they’re getting theirs, or until there is nothing left. It’s a far cry from constitutional liberty and pursuit of happiness. It’s called SOCIALISM.

Wednesday was a crap-tastic day. Truly, TRULY, depressing. In fact, the mood was pretty somber at work, both with co-workers and patients. And I had zero patience with people. Especially with the rude, demanding a-holes who insisted that they weren’t being scheduled soon enough or that their tests weren’t being performed fast enough and then threw A FIT when they had to pay their $.50 co-pay.

FIFTY-FREAKING-CENTS, YA’LL.

That’s sick and twisted, right there.

I’m pissed off because my GOD people, what is wrong with you. There were 3 million LESS conservatives that voted this go-around than during the 2008 election. Why. Why?? When we needed you MORE during this election? If those people had voted, Romney would have won.

Cowardly big mouths who didn’t have the balls to be inconvenienced and vote our country back onto the right track.

And now? F*ck it. It’s only our future.

And just think, I’m not even 1/8th as upset as I was yesterday.

I am absolutely disgusted with … nearly everyone, if you want the truth. We have now reached a point where the majority of people are OKAY with living in a socialist nation. The majority of people do not mind giving up their freedoms and having the government telling them how to live their lives, what to eat and drink, what cars to drive, how much gas to burn, what light bulbs to use, what foods we feed our children, how much money we’re ALLOWED to make … it never ends.

It used to infuriate people whenever the government overstepped its bounds and now? It’s common place. People don’t even blink an eye.

And that scares the sh*t out of me, quite frankly.

And the Republicans? Need to straighten up and get their act together. Because the Republican establishment, on purpose or out of stupidity, are strangling the conservative cause. They have GOT to get the message out and stop going on the defensive. They seriously spend most of their time defending themselves than they do trying to make people wake up and see that being conservative means being successful individuals, not a collective failure like the Dems’ message.

The American people aren’t interested in working hard or getting ahead in life. All the American people are in interested in is free stuff. All they want is for someone to take care of them.

Screw capitalism.

We’re here. Now. On the brink of socialism.

What happens when the money runs out? What happens when there isn’t free stuff anymore?

One word. Greece.

(And in case you haven’t been paying attention [which seems to be the norm any more]; Greece is a socialist nation. And guess what? The money has run out. And now? The entire country is rioting because their free stuff was taken away from them. Now? They’re busy destroying themselves. Fun stuff).

Ho. Ho. Ho, Suckers.

Welcome to Socialist America.

Another Four Years with No Hope of Change

Congratulations.

Our nation is now truly divided.

Enjoy the descent.

I have no more words. I’m truly dumbfounded and absolutely disappointed in people. I can not believe that after all the attempts to wake people up, and after a billion (MORE) dollars wasted, nothing has changed – at all. The GOP still controls the House, the Democrats still control the Senate and we still have a socialist president.

Obama has absolutely nothing to lose now. He will do whatever he damn well pleases and will continue to absolutely erode our Constitution. It just boggles my mind that people are truly this blind and stupid.

The Bible predicts all of this. I shouldn’t be surprised. And it will get worse, so much worse, before it gets better. I just wish it didn’t have to happen SO SOON.

Our society is deteriorating before our very eyes.

Common sense, responsibility, and a sense of decency has become the minority.

God help us.

What Kind of America Are We Leaving For Our Children?

Helping the children – that’s always a big selling point whenever politicians want to pass something, right?

(Like this cigarette tax – which really, how does this help? When are we going to learn that throwing money at our schools, willy-nilly, is never going to fix our problem? The only way to fix our schools is to restructure and reform them, period. Our problem is with the way our children are taught, incompetent teachers and how they’re taught. Let’s fix that problem first. Then let’s take a HARD look at what we’re spending money on, reallocate funds, if necessary and then, ONLY THEN, if we need to pour more money into the coffers, should we take a HARD LOOK at raising more money. We can’t go on tightening screws or replacing bolts – the entire engine needs to be rebuilt. Also? Studies show that most smokers are low-income folks. So … we’re taxing the poor to help the kids, right? Only, the legislators have a legal right to reallocate the funds once they’ve been approved. So who knows where that money will REALLY go. NO. There’s a better solution, people.)

So. Okay. Let’s help our children. LET’S REALLY HELP OUR CHILDREN AND FIX THE FIASCO THAT HAS BEEN THESE PAST FOUR YEARS. Or even these past six or eight years.

Stop whining folks. It’s time to tighten our belts and make some serious changes. Let’s show these politicians that we won’t be pushed around anymore – grow a backbone and stand UP.

Vote Obama OUT of office.

And Missouri folks? Know what you’re voting on tomorrow. Listen to the podcast below – Dr. Lily does a really good job of explaining what’s on the ballot.

LET’S FIX THIS. OBAMA NEEDS TO GO.

Romney One – Obama Zero

At least, according to this CNN poll.

I almost, almost, feel sorry for Obama.

Mr. President, you can’t talk down to people, insult their intelligence, claim they didn’t work hard for what they have, squash their freedoms by burying them with regulations, take their choices away and heavily tax them without risking repercussions. The American people are PISSED OFF and FED UP with your socialist, government-is-the-answer, agenda. And it’s refreshing to actually SEE this finally coming to a head because the media has done a smash-up job of covering up the truth these past three years. You can hear the panic, and disillusionment, in Chris Matthews’ voice here.

Part of me can’t help but think this is yet another trick of Obama’s – get the American people to feel sorry for him because big, bad, mean Romney absolutely crushed him last night. This is what happens when you rely on teleprompters and staff writers to do your thinking/talking for you. I honestly think Obama was surprised by Romney’s aggressiveness. Actually, I was surprised by Romney’s aggressiveness. I didn’t think he was capable of being tough and decisive but damn it, that’s what we NEED right now – someone with a backbone who won’t stand down, or “compromise” any longer. We’ve compromised way too much this past decade and it’s time to start standing up for what’s right and defend our constitution. We’ve LIVED it the Democrats’ way and it hasn’t worked – NOW IT’S OUR TURN.

And the Republican Establishment better get the hell out of the way – that’s all I’m saying. In fact, it’s time we abolished the Republican establishment – they’ve done more harm than good for the party for way too long as well.

I’m sorry, but after enduring the monstrosity that has been Obama-nomics for the past three years, I just have to take a moment to savor the humiliating blows for a moment … my apologizes if I’m gloating but when you’ve had your voice taken away for three (plus??) years, it’s terribly satisfying to finally have a portion of it actually heard, for a change …

Bewildered and lost without his teleprompter, President Obama flailed all around the debate stage last night. He was stuttering, nervous and petulant. It was like he had been called in front of the principal after goofing around for four years and blowing off all his homework.

Not since Jimmy Carter faced Ronald Reagan has the U.S. presidency been so embarrassingly represented in public. Actually, that’s an insult to Jimmy Carter.

The split screen was most devastating. Mitt Romney spoke forthrightly, with carefully studied facts and details at the ready. He looked right at the president and accused him of being miles out of his depth.

Mr. Obama? His eyes were glued to his lectern, looking guilty and angry and impatient with all the vagaries of Democracy. This debate was seriously chafing him.
Source

Humility is a bitter pill to swallow, Mr. President.

Well, that was odd.

President Obama’s stylistic strategy during Wednesday night’s debate seemed to be to try to stay right above the rancor, to appear dignified, presidential. The problem with that approach is that the line between dignified and presidential and anodyne and weak is the width of a cat’s hair.

Romney, on the other hand, went on the attack, interrupting and rambling on, which to some will read as confidence and command of the facts, even if many of his statements were riddled with the, um, nonfactual. (Instead of larding this post with these points, I direct you to The New York Times’s fact-check of the debate.)

The president didn’t call him on these issues. Why? The president let Romney interrupt and talk over him. Why? The president didn’t even mention Romney’s secretly recorded statement about the “47 percent.” Why?

The passion that the president exhibits on the campaign trail never showed up on the debate stage. To my mind, that was a mistake.
Source

This poor writer – it’s almost embarrassing to watch/read someone’s disillusioned dreams shatter, isn’t it.

I linked to the Liberals’ “fact check” – now check out the GOP’s fact check of last night’s debate.

Faced with a humiliating and complete defeat for their candidate in last night’s debate, the only recourse from the Democratic National Committee was to release an ad claiming Mitt Romney wasn’t gentle enough on the President.
Source

*rolls eyes* Seriously?!? Gentle enough?? We don’t want a president made out of glass that gets his feelings hurt, we want a STRONG LEADER who will take the issues by the short and curlies and deal with them.

Okay. I’m done torturing you. We could spend all day reading/discussing various news stories but, well, life goes on, doesn’t it.
