Charting My Time

Time is valuable.

My time is valuable.

At least, that’s what I tell you.

And that’s what I tell myself.

And yet, here I am, wasting time by clicking around on the Internet. Don’t believe me? Take a look at this pie chart I made:

my-time

Now granted, this is not based on scientific evidence. This is based on my own evaluation of how much time I think I devote to these areas of my life.

And I must be honest. I’m not happy with the results.

Just look at all that red.

Red is my least favorite color.

Something must be done with the amount of time I spend maintaining/writing/thinking about my blog.

Seriously.

Starting today.

Starting right now …

  1. It’s good sometimes to step back and reevaluate.

I took a four month break from blogging about a year and a half ago and don’t regret it one bit. I needed to know I controlled it and not the other way around.

  2. Yes / no. I agree that it’s a warm up, but I find myself writing just to fill space as opposed to writing something with substance. I also find myself thinking, daydreaming, plotting my next blog post.

It’s honestly out of control. I need control.

    Now.

  3. Doesn’t blogging count as writing? I mean, you ARE writing. My husband uses blogging as a warm up for his writing.
