Gearing Up for My First 5K Tomorrow!
My Reading Speed
I took a reading test and here are my results.

I could read War and Peace in 22 hours and 55 minutes given my reading speed.
That’s something I haven’t done in quite some time – read. I get home from work so mentally exhausted that THE LAST thing I want to do is tax my brain any more than I have to.
But I miss it. I really miss it.
What Conservatives Believe – Part Seven
7. American Exceptionalism – successful with our military, economy, science and culture. There is NO other country in the world like America and that’s something to BE PROUD OF.
I know what you’re thinking, “Geez Karen, what an arrogant attitude.”
I’m NOT saying Americans are better than other people in the world. What I AM saying is that we’re exceptional in the fact that we have grown, evolved and become a force to be reckoned with because we, as a people, refused to lay down and whimper in fear to our “masters.” We have stood up, as a country, and become strong, innovative, wealthy and successful because of our willingness to be strong and take it in the chin. America does not follow others, we prefer to lead by example.
We are not willing to follow one leader, we want to be a COUNTRY of leaders. We are exceptional in our acts and we strive to provide opportunities to anyone who is willing to take a chance, to stand up and be strong, to withstand criticism and rejection, at every turn, and MAKE ourselves independent of power-hungry demigods.
THAT’S what makes America exceptional.
Don’t want to take responsibility for your life? Don’t want to make your own decisions? Don’t want to work hard to support yourself?
Move to France. I hear they just elected a socialist president. I’m sure you’ll fit right in.
See ya.

I Am a Shee-Doo-Ler
This is the back of my name badge …
True story.
My co-worker was checking a patient out the other day and her name badge had flipped over so that you could see her first name, her last initial and scheduler under neath it – like in the picture above.
Patient: “Are you German?”
Co-worker: “Excuse me?”
Patient: “Are you German?” the patient asked again.
My co-worker was stumped. She had no idea why the woman would ask her that question.
Co-worker: “Not that I’m aware of. Why do you ask?”
Patient: “I just wondered how you pronounced your last name. Is it shee-doo-ler?”
It took my co-worker a few seconds before she finally figured out that the patient had thought her last name was Scheduler!!
And my boss, who happened to be walking by at that very moment, tripped and had to run back to her office because she was laughing so hard, she was crying.
I can tell you that we STILL, to this DAY, joke about that. And we’re now known, to everyone in the clinic, as the “shee-doo-lers.”
LOL
