So, I ran across this really cool website called “You Can Make This.”

From the site:
YouCanMakeThis.com was created by a stay-at-home mom who wanted to provide a place where women could learn how to make items for their homes and families. The site is unique because the eBooks and patterns are written by “everyday” women. The step-by-step format of the eBooks enables even the most craft-challenged person to experience the satisfaction of creating something beautiful.
YouCanMakeThis.com provides easy to follow how-to eBooks on a variety of projects. The eBooks feature detailed step-by-step instructions and photos that walk you through the creative process. Popular categories include clothing creation, quilting, crochet, jewelry, home decor, and more.
Doesn’t that sound like fun? I’ve also included this website on my list of “approved” retailers for both the quarterly photo contest and Coffee Chat (which is happening now and actually ends today if you want a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the “You Can Make This” website).
Here are some crafts from the site that caught my eye:
Floppy Eared Bunny Silly Hat – Crochet Pattern: $6.38
Strappy Sundress- Sizes 1-6: $9.95
Toy Frog – Crochet: $6.00 (Aww)
The Abigail Photo Bag: $9.99
The Booty Bag: $8.95 (A fun way to recycle those jeans the kids outgrow).
Anyway, I thought this site was a fun alternative to store-bought stuff AND it saves money while making memories.
(By the way, I did not get paid to pass this information on to you. I saw the site, thought it was cute and felt compelled to talk about it. I don’t accept paid advertisements, but if I ever do, I’ll let you know).
Have fun!
