WW: Coming Full Circle

Looking in NICU Window

This is Dude, looking into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at all of the precious, and tiny, premature babies in our local hospital.

The same hospital where he was born.

In fact, this is the same NICU where Dude spent the first six weeks of his life.

In fact, he’s standing at the exact spot where loved ones looked in at him in his tiny bed, all hooked up to tubes and a breathing machine while I anxiously sat beside him wondering if my little guy was EVER going to make it to five pounds so I could finally take him home.

I needn’t have worried. πŸ™‚

It’s been a long, crazy road but my “preemie” is NOW 17.

*eye twitch*

WW: Priceless Observation

Priceless Observation

Let’s be fair: maybe the guy was just walking by and saw Mrs. Obama and wanted a picture. Or maybe it’s not really a Blackberry, but some other cheaper version and the monthly plan is not as expensive as indicated. Or maybe the man really IS homeless and needs a cell phone so a temporary help agency can reach him.

Or maybe it’s more important to this man to have a phone than food. That’s his prerogative, his business, right?

Whatever the circumstances, it makes you think about priorities, doesn’t it?
