Human Resources Notified Me Today That an Extra $21 Bucks is Being Deducted from My Paycheck. Guess Why.
This notice was in our daily bulletin at work today:
Mandatory Healthcare Reform fees
From Human Resources: All employees participating in our health plan will see new federal fees deducted from their paychecks starting Jan. 3. The healthcare reform law (Affordable Care Act – aka OBAMACARE) [added because I’m PISSED OFF] requires all employers to collect fees on all health plan participants. This new fee is known the Transitional Reinsurance Program fee. Beginning in 2014, the new Transitional Reinsurance Fee will be shown as a line item deduction titled “FedIns1,” and will be deducted from the first check of every month. The fee is $5.25 per month for each family member covered by your health plan. This fee is in addition to normal premiums for our health plan and is scheduled by the federal government to end in 2017. It is intended to provide additional funding for the new Federal Healthcare Exchange to cover costs of people with serious, previously untreated health conditions who have previously been uninsured.
And it begins – the first of the “fees” that are now being taken out of my paycheck – that’s $42.00 PER MONTH. And if you think it’s going to stop there, just wait until government tries to “fix” it by adding in more fees “for the common good.” It’s not for my family’s good, asswipe …
I get up at 6:00 a.m. every morning, I work 40 hours a week for barely over minimum wage (I made more at Wal-Mart – shocked? Go figure). I have TONS of stress trying to help people who are in serious pain and need serious help. I’m making sacrifices, I’m doing everything right, I’m keeping my family off the government welfare system, I’m being RESPONSIBLE for me and my family and I pay taxes. I don’t like it. I think we pay WAY TOO MANY TAXES, but I can live with it, somewhat, because again, I’M RESPONSIBLE and it’s RESPONSIBLE to help pay for roads, firefighters, police, etc.
But I’m NOT okay paying for something I didn’t vote for, that the majority of Americans are against, for people who know how to milk the system.
Here’s an idea – brace yourself because it’s a pretty crazy idea, how about instigating programs that help people OUT of their dire straits and not steal (yes, STEAL) money from hard-working people that goes to SUPPORT people who may begin in dire straits but then figure, to hell with it, sucking off the government’s teat is WAY easier than actually working.
Working is hard – mooching is easy.
And before you even think to say, “Calm down, Karen. It’s only $20 bucks” I’m going to say, twenty bucks here, another ten bucks there and before you know it, I’m working FOR the government. Where, exactly, does that leave me and my family again?
When, exactly, do we draw the line and say enough is enough?!
Son of a BITCH. I DESPISE this administration.

IT Begins: Hospital Workers Go Unpaid
The contractor building the financial management system for Healthcare.gov is being blamed by a Houston hospital for delayed Medicare reimbursements that have caused the hospital to miss payrolls for weeks.
According to the CEO Jason Leday, more than 150 employees haven’t been paid in nearly a month.
“I understand that they have children and a house payment, bills. Not getting paid is wow,” nearby resident Theresa Gutierrez said.
The hospital is strapped for cash not because its not making money, but because Leday says a new Medicare payment facilitator named Novitas Solutions is taking too way long to pay out Medicare claims to the hospital.
Leday says he’s owed nearly $3 million in payments from Medicare and can’t make payroll…
The Texas Medical Association says they are familiar with complaints like this one regarding the medicare payment facilitator- and a representative told us smaller community hospitals like this one are in similar situations.
This is precisely why doctors will either choose to see fewer Medicare patients or will stop seeing Medicare patients altogether. Contrary to some beliefs, people work to be PAID for their services – there is no such thing as a free lunch.
And this is just ONE hospital that we KNOW of – think how many more HAVEN’T been reported on.
Just think, the government is JUST getting started.
If you’re not scare yet, you should probably start worrying.

Confession: I’m not a big fan of Ted Nugent. I take what he says with a grain of salt, but I’ll be honest, this article sums up the whole Martin/Zimmerman incident pretty nicely, in my opinion.
The jury got it right, and non-racist America rejoices that there is still common sense, honesty and decency aware of identifying justice in this country. America also believes that the entire prosecutorial team should be ashamed of themselves and disbarred for ignoring the obvious and kowtowing to the pure racism that forced the politically correct lie that only black lives killed by non-blacks matter, which is why there are no headlines, no protests, no prosecutions and no Barak Obama or Eric Holder meddling in the nonstop black-on-black slaughter in their gun-free zone of Chicago.
Martin Luther King Jr. is rolling over in his grave that he sacrificed his life for the cause of judging people by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin, as so many of his own race carry in in self-destructive behavior while professional race mongers blame everything on racism. It is painful and heartbreaking to say and write this, but horrifically it is true. Blacks kill more blacks in a weekend in Chicago than the evil, vile Ku Klux Klan idiots did in 50 years. Truly earth shattering insane. And not a peep from Obama or Holder. Tragic.
The only racism on that night was perpetrated by Trayvon Martin, and everybody knows it.
Here’s the lesson from all this, America: Teach your children to not attack people for no good reason whatsoever. Conduct yourself in a responsible, civil manner, and everything will be just fine. Try to kill someone and that someone just may be exercising his or her Second Amendment rights and you could get shot. It’s called self-defense, and it is the oldest, strongest and most righteous instinct and God-given right known to man.

Sunday Scribblings: Paradise
It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who think if we just pass this law, or take away this right, our country will magically transform into some sort of paradise on earth.
What a naïve outlook on life. Newsflash: IT AIN’T HAPPENING IN OUR LIFETIME.
It will never happen – not until Christ comes back, that is. And if you’re not a Christian, then I suppose you don’t even have that hope to look forward to.
How sad.
I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but folks – look – we live in a fallen world. It’s controlled by an evil entity, an entity that gets his kicks out of murder, chaos and hopelessness. It’s what he thrives on. And again, if you don’t believe in the whole God/Satan thing then just look around you: mankind is, and will continually become, more and more corrupt as time goes by.
I don’t mean to get all preachy on you, but let’s pause a moment for a reality check. It’s all about power and greed nowadays and humans are imperfect – our world will never get better, it will only get worse.
Hence the reason that many conservatives/Christians push to keep and/or change back, our laws. We KNOW things will only get worse and we’re desperately trying to stall the inevitable by maintaining the laws we have now (because erasing, or easing the current laws will only allow more chaos, less control, into our lives). Because the Left’s push for us to relinquish control over our lives, to willingly hand our lives, and our decisions concerning our lives, over the government on a silver platter, is a dangerous road to travel. Because if we allow the government to fund our lives, then that same government then has the final say over what we can, or can not do in our lives. They have a say in how we live our lives. They have a say over whether or not we need healthcare. They have a say over what we eat, how much we eat, where we eat. They have a say over what vehicles we drive, or how often we drive, or what sort of fuel we burn.
Handing control over to our government means they have a say over how many children we can have, or where they go to school, or what they learn.
How, exactly, is this paradise??
I don’t know about you, but I have no desire to become a puppet in my own life. I much prefer to be free to be allowed to make my own damn decisions, to live my life the way I choose (as long as I’m not denying someone their life, liberty or right to property) and be the mistress of my own destiny.
I honestly worry about people’s intelligence these days. People are so focused on short-term, Bandaid sort of solutions, that they either refuse, or deny, the reality of situations; how will this affect our lives ten years from now? It’s quite disturbing that people are so willing to swallow (or be injected) whatever is spoon fed them without stopping to QUESTION whether or not what is being forced on them is logical or even reasonable. There are way too many sheep in today’s society and not nearly enough Sheppards.
The moment, THE MOMENT, we allow the government to take a small sliver of control over us, we will never get it back. And the more that is relinquished, the more complacent people become. “Oh. What’s one more thing? What’s the big deal?” I hear people say.
The BIG DEAL, people, is that one day we will wake up and we’re not able to leave our houses without permission from “our government.”
Our freedoms have, little by little, been eroding away and it’s like we’re all sleep walking our way through life. It’s like we all have blinders on and only focus on what’s being spoon fed to us – we don’t have the balls, or the motivation (because it’s so much easier to just nod our heads yes and open our mouths), to tear those damn blinders off and look, REALLY LOOK, at the sh*t the government is trying to force on us.
Do you honestly think we’re on the path to paradise? If we ONLY give more control over the government, then we’ll find that non-existent utopia??
An authoritarian nation is defined not just by the use of authoritarian powers, but by the ability to use them. If a president can take away your freedom or your life on his own authority, all rights become little more than a discretionary grant subject to executive will.
The framers lived under autocratic rule and understood this danger better than we do. James Madison famously warned that we needed a system that did not depend on the good intentions or motivations of our rulers: “If men were angels, no government would be necessary.”
Benjamin Franklin was more direct. In 1787, a Mrs. Powel confronted Franklin after the signing of the Constitution and asked, “Well, Doctor, what have we got — a republic or a monarchy?” His response was a bit chilling: “A republic, Madam, if you can keep it.”
Since 9/11, we have created the very government the framers feared: a government with sweeping and largely unchecked powers resting on the hope that they will be used wisely.
The indefinite-detention provision in the defense authorization bill seemed to many civil libertarians like a betrayal by Obama. While the president had promised to veto the law over that provision, Levin, a sponsor of the bill, disclosed on the Senate floor that it was in fact the White House that approved the removal of any exception for citizens from indefinite detention.
Dishonesty from politicians is nothing new for Americans. The real question is whether we are lying to ourselves when we call this country the land of the free.

Sometimes, watching a Democrat learn something is wonderful, like seeing the family dog finally sit and stay at your command.
So. Have you gotten your first paycheck for 2013 yet?
Notice anything different?
Just wait. You will.
I noticed. My paycheck was about $80 dollars less than what it normally is.
Why, you ask? Because of Barack Obama, that’s why.
Thanks to this douchebag, erhm, sorry. PRESIDENT Douchebag, about 70% of us have to pay MORE in taxes. Because this president’s spending is out of control and we have to support the takers, now don’t we!?!
I hope you’re happy America, because you’re getting what YOU PAID FOR.
