If You Know What You Believe, You Can Defend It, Right?

This truly disturbs me. It shows that our young people (most people? Lord, I hope not) are simply regurgitating what they’re being told and really don’t understand the issue behind the cause, at all.

Look. Parents. I really don’t care which side of the fence you cut the lawn for, Democrat or Republican, if you can’t defend what you believe in, if you can’t look at a situation objectively and rationally, if you can’t teach your children the REASON behind why you believe what you believe in, then doesn’t that, right there, warrant a closer look into your beliefs? If a person has more questions than answers when it comes to morals, beliefs, causes, then wouldn’t it be more responsible to find out more information before championing the cause?

We consistently talk to our boys about WHY we believe the way we do. We back it up with facts, with proof, with history, in order to convince them we firmly believe in something. We look at ALL sides of an issue and then we discuss it. They have every right to believe differently than we do, but we have every right to question them as to WHY they believe differently than we do. If they can’t answer that simple question, “WHY DO YOU FEEL THAT WAY”, then catch me later – I’m done debating. (Actually, is it a debate if the other person can’t defend their position? I’d say that’s more along the lines of an argument and I have no desire to argue with an ill-informed person).

Here’s an older video from the Exposing Leftists website that is worth another watch:

I wish the Exposing Leftists people would make more videos – these are priceless, and informative.

Ignorance is not only bliss, it’s also a way to control the people. After all, if you don’t know the facts beyond a statement, cause, law, then how can you possibly dispute and/or reject it?

These young people are our future. Is anyone worried about their inability to think for themselves instead of allowing an individual, or an organization, to tell them what to think?

I am.

Palin’s Shaking Things Up with her One Nation Tour

Our family has been blessed with an opportunity to showcase all that is good and strong and free about our exceptional nation.

Even though the media too often sadly chose sound-bites over substance, they did get lots of substance during our “One Nation” tour from the nearly two dozen opportunities I got to speak candidly with them and talk about policy, politics, history, and everything in between. More importantly, I got to talk with countless everyday Americans who want to get our country back on the right track.

It’s been an extraordinary honor to meet so many fellow patriots who care deeply about this country, who want a brighter future for all of us, and who recognize the undeviating line that connects our history to our future.

Not surprising, some members of the media missed a lot of this due to their relentless and futile search for scuttlebutt. So, we assembled this video to capture the amazing Americana spirit of the places and people we visited. I invite you to enjoy this recap of last week’s east coast bus tour.

Please remember we must learn about our past – our great successes, our bitter struggles, our enduring strength – in order to navigate through the challenges ahead so that we might remain a shining city on a hill and the abiding beacon of freedom.

As we look to our Charters of Liberty and our strong foundation to fundamentally restore America, we’ll keep moving forward… and we’ll keep reporting on it ourselves.

– Sarah Palin

If you just watched that video and DIDN’T feel overwhelmingly patriotic, then there is something wrong with you.

Seriously.

I’m liking Palin the more she speaks out. I love how she doesn’t take crap from anyone – from refusing to apologize for not handing over her itinerary to the lame-stream media (what a bunch of whiners), to standing passively by as the lame-stream media spend countless man hours and who knows how many dollars combing through thousands of emails desperately trying to find some dirt on her. With no luck, I might add.

How pathetic.

Where was that level of energy and determination whenever we were selecting the next president of the United States? Don’t you think researching the background of our commander-in-chief is a TAD more important than investigating a woman who has the balls to say what she means, means what she says and isn’t even running for office?

The lame-stream media need to get over their obsession with Palin because it’s just making them appear more and more desperate and well, lame.

One more thing about Palin – there was a woman caller on Rush’s show the other day that had a theory as to why so many people can’t stand Palin – she’s a woman who has it all. She has a good looking husband, attractive children, including a special-needs child, she’s not afraid to speak her mind, she hunts, she rock climbs (even though she’s afraid of heights) and she’s beautiful. Women are threatened by her and men are intimidated by her.

People don’t like people who seem to have it all, who seem to be able to juggle it all. We’re, in essence, a jealous country and for some strange reason, we can’t stand it whenever our peers have any success in life.

Interesting theory, don’t you think?

Also …

I am not a fan of Mitt Romney. He’s a RINO (Republican in name only) and if it’s between him and Obama this next election, I’ll end up writing in someone’s name rather than vote for either one of them.

The biggest reason I don’t like Romney? RomneyCare. He pushed through a state-wide healthcare plan that became the template for the disaster that is known as ObamaCare. He also believes in man-made Global Warming.

DUDE, COME ON.

Anyway, even though I don’t like the man, I DO like his latest ad. I think it perfectly sums up how Obama sees individual Americans – bumps in the road to his ultimate goal – make our country entirely dependent on the government.

Speaking of Obama …

Did you hear his family is “okay” with him as only a one-term president?

GREAT! Because Mr. President, the country is fighting to make that happen.

Dear Mr. President – Do You Even Possess a Guilty Conscience?

Vodpod videos no longer available.

(RSS readers: another disparaging video showcasing our clueless president).

Do you think Obama feels guilty for some of the beliefs he’s trying to cram down our throats? Do you wonder if he’s even aware that a lot of his policies are in direct conflict with the Constitution? Do you wonder if Obama even cares?

I do. Sometimes. Most of the time I just avoid the man at all costs because he annoys me so much.

But whatever. I’ll respect the office. He’s the president.

For now.

I stumbled across an OUTSTANDING blog: it’s called Biblical Conservatism and it’s exactly what the title says. I haven’t stumbled across a post yet that I’ve disagreed with.

Before you turn your nose up at the recommendation, go read a few of his articles THEN get back to me. He’s fair, logical and quite concise.

I dig it.

Here’s his latest excerpt from the article: Freedom of Religion Doesn’t Mean Freedom FROM Religion

So Liberals, and atheists of all political bents, please hear me: Get over yourselves. We have the right to express our faith. You have a right to not listen. You have a right to debate with us. You do not have a right to silence our constitutionally protected religious speech. Get over it.

Can I get an AMEN?!? You really must read the rest of the article – once again he says what I’m thinking. Love it.

Also? Mr. Bastedo’s post on gay marriage is SPOT ON and I couldn’t agree MORE.

I think I have a blog crush.

Cowboy Bud’s Astute Conclusion

A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote pasture when suddenly a brand-new BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust

The driver, a young man in an Armani suit, Gucci shoes , RayBan sunglasses and YSL tie, leaned out the window and asked the cowboy, “If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd, Will you give me a calf?”

Bud looks at the man, obviously a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing herd and calmly answers, “Sure, Why not?”

The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell notebook computer, connects it to his Cingular RAZR V3 cell phone , and surfs to a NASA page on the Internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite to get an exact fix on his location which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra-high-resolution photo.

The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg , Germany .

Within seconds, he receives an email on his Palm Pilot that the image has been processed and the data stored. He then accesses an MS-SQL database through an ODBC connected Excel spreadsheet with email on his Blackberry and, after a few minutes, receives a response.

Finally, he prints out a full-color, 150-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet printer, turns to the cowboy and says, “You have exactly 1,586 cows and calves.”

“That’s right. Well, I guess you can take one of my calves,” says Bud.

He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on with amusement as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car.

Then Bud says to the young man, “Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my calf?”

The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, “Okay, why not?”

“You’re an aide in the Obama Administration”, says Bud.

“Wow! That’s correct,” says the yuppie, “but how did you guess that?”

“No guessing required.” answered the cowboy. “You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked. You used millions of dollars worth of equipment trying to show me how much smarter than me you are; and you don’t know a thing about how working people make a living — or about cows, for that matter. This is a herd of sheep. …

Now give me back my dog.”

Gassing Up with Obama

hahaha! *wiping tears* My favorite part is the drip at the end.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

(RSS readers – I had to import this from Vimeo, which means you probably won’t see it in your readers. Please click the title of the post to watch the video).

Also in gas-related news:

Senate rejects GOP bill to expand, speed up offshore drilling

The Senate on Wednesday rejected Republican-backed legislation intended to speed up and expand offshore oil and gas drilling.

The statement alleged that the plan would “hastily” open areas in the Gulf, Alaska and Atlantic to leasing without adequate environmental analysis. It also noted that the Interior Department plans to hold the Gulf lease sales referenced in the bill by mid-2012 anyway.

But Republicans said the plan contains effective safeguards and cast the measure as a common-sense way to boost domestic energy development. “If there is one word that should be used to describe this bill, it would be ‘modest,’” said Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), the top Republican on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, on the floor Wednesday. “Everything within it is straightforward. Nothing is outlandish, nothing goes too far; there’s no poison pills in it.”

Here’s my favorite comment from the article:

Can’t waste resources tapping into our own energy supplies- after all, we promised Brazil we would be their best customer.

Really. That about sums it up, don’t you think?

Obama’s Hot Air Energy Plan

So the Obama energy policy is this: higher prices, less safety, fewer jobs, and real environmental damage in place of harmless carbon dioxide emissions. That should be a winner in 2012.

You really think Obama has our country’s best interest at heart?

Really?

I’m thinking – no.

Pass the word. We seriously can not AFFORD four more years of this man.

Rambama Is Now Our President *snort*

WHY are people so determined to make Obama into some sort of saint or holy man?

Or a super hero?

Seriously people, it’s pathetic and downright embarrassing. There is a segment of our society so desperate to disguise, diffuse, and divert attention away from Obama’s dismal policies and mistakes (just take a look at our economy if you don’t believe me – unemployment is still at unacceptable levels – rising gas prices – 1 in 7 people now on food stamps – how CAN Obama supporters defend that? Short answer, they can’t), that they will stoop to even lower levels to achieve that distraction.

Behold our president – the super hero:

Navy SEALs have become national heroes since news broke that they took down Osama bin Laden, so it’s fitting that the newest action figure from a Connecticut company is a fierce-looking President Barack Obama as a SEAL.

The minute Obama said late on the night of May 1 that the U.S. had found and killed bin Laden, Emil Vicale knew which his action figure company’s would make next — Rambama.

On Wednesday morning, Hero Builders released the Obama SEAL Team 6 action figure — a muscular President in fatigues armed with an M1-A4.

Source

What a colossal slap in the face for our Navy Seals.

Look. This whole bin Laden deal – Obama deserves credit for giving the okay to take out the son of a bitch. If the operation had gone badly, Obama would have received a lot of heat. Sure. I give credit where credit is due.

But if it hadn’t been for Bush’s policies/procedures (yes, I’m alluding to the “enhanced interrogation techniques”), then bin Laden wouldn’t have been put in a position to BE caught. And the fact that he was is because America has KICK ASS special ops teams. These men put their lives on the line to carry out these incredibly dangerous missions all so we, Americans, can peacefully sleep at night. (And our awesome military? Doesn’t even get paid that much. And we’re thinking of cutting defense and reallocating that money to entitlement programs? Get your priorities straight, America, Do you want to be safe or don’t you).

And as a side note – I wonder how the liberals will feel with the fact that their super hero president is sporting a GUN of all things. *gasp* What happened to appeasing our enemies? What happened to a peaceful solution? (This is the liberal mindset, not necessarily mine. Though I’m all for finding a peaceful solution in lieu of violence, I’m also realistic. Peaceful doesn’t stand a chance against insane, hate-filled people toting guns).

This is just too crazy to even talk about anymore. It’s like I’m living in an alternate universe or something.
